Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp, Berlin
Sachsenhausen concentration camp is located just 35 km to the north of the city of Berlin and de rigueur for any groups studying History and Politics, so let us fit this into an itinerary for you on your next History trip to Berlin.
The camp has been carefully preserved and serves as a memorial to what happened before and during the Second World War, as well as its history in the post war Cold War when the site was a special camp for the occupying Russian forces.
Guided tours in English are available to student groups if required. There is a museum, memorial hall and cinema where a film about the history of the camp is shown hourly, on the hour. A poignant and moving reminder of the evils of the Nazi regime, a visit to Sachsenhausen will resonate in the minds of your student group for many years to come.
