Stasi Museum, Berlin
The Stasi was the East German equivalent of the KGB and were the East German secret service. Considered the "shield and sword" of the ruling communist SED party for nearly 40 years, the Stasi waged war on the opponents of the state. This museum gives visiting student groups a fascinating insight into the apparatus of control of the Communist Government of East Germany.
Upon request special lectures may be organised with specialists to go into a range of different topics on life under single party rule including suppression and resistance in the GDR, the moral courage of those who brought about the dissolution of the Stasi in 1990 and political justice in the former East Germany.
