Mazzucchelli Museum, Milan

The Mazzuchelli family has been creating innovative designs for a range of different uses since 1849. Use of natural materials in manufacture gave way to the use of celluloid and cellulose acetate. Nowadays Mazzucchelli are particularly known for their fashionable use of plastics in spectacles and sunglasses. The site in Castiglione Olona is now their base for the production of aesthetic works based on the use of plastics.

In 2004, the Museo di Arte Plastica (Museum of Plastic Art) was created in the Palazzo dei Castiglioni in Monteruzzo, where old and new meet and mingle. The collection of the “Polimero Arte” is the focus for the museum, cementing the bond between Castiglione Olona artistic tradition and the Mazzucchelli company. Interested student groups will require a coach for the 37 mile trip north of Milan and FHT will be happy to assist with prices.
