Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Venice
Peggy Guggenheim's career belongs in the history of 20th century art. She used to say that it was her duty to protect the art of her own time, and so she dedicated half of her life to this mission, as well as to the creation of the museum that still carries her name.
The museum is located in Palazzo Venier Dei Leoni, an unfinished 18th century Grand Palace, right on the Grand canal between the Accademia bridge and church of Santa Maria Della Salute. It contains without doubt some of the finest examples of 20th century modern art to be found anywhere in the World. Guided tours can be arranged, please contact us for details.
