Bridge of Sighs, Venice
This famous bridge, known as the Ponte dei Sospiri to the natives, connects the Palazzo delle Prigioni and Palazzo Ducale. It is called the bridge of sighs because in old times convicts, after their trial, were forced to enter the prison through this bridge and, legend has it, as they glimpsed their last view of Venice would let out a sigh.
If your student group wish to walk on it then you will need to take a guided tour of the Doge's Palace. Please get in touch with FHT for further information.
