Council of Europe, Strasbourg
Since it's foundation in 1949, the primary aim of the Council of Europe has been to bring together and promote the values of the democracies of Europe. The Palais de l'Europe is the headquarters of the Council and the flags of every member state are lined up in front of it's distinctive building.
The Council works to promote democracy, human rights and the rule of law throughout the whole continent, as well as developing solutions to social, cultural and legal challenges in its member states - a massive area with a population of well over 800 million people!
A visit to the Council of Europe will give Law and Politics students a chance to discover and learn more about the organisation, from its origins in 1949 to the present day. Please contact us for information.
