Berlin Film Museum, Berlin
A valuable visit for any trips to Berlin for media students, The Berlin Film Museum's permanent exhibition displays exhibits from the entire span of German film history, including the exile of many artists to Hollywood during the National Socialist era. The exhibits include posters, photos, film costumes, architectural sketches, and props. A particular focus is the actress Marlene Dietrich compiled from an extensive private collection.
During the Berlinale in February a year also exhibitions will be presented by the respective retrospective accompanies the festival. The Movie Museum has a library with extensive collections of literature and film journals, including important early magazines like The Cinematograph, the photo-stage and the Film-Kurier. Until it moveed to the film museum, the library belonged to the German Film and Television Academy.
