Stasi Museum, Berlin

The Stasi was the East German equivalent of the KGB and were the East German secret service. Considered the "shield and sword" of the ruling communist SED party for nearly 40 years, the Stasi waged war on the opponents of the state. This museum gives visiting student groups a fascinating insight into the apparatus of control of the Communist Government of East Germany.

The Story of Berlin

The Story of Berlin opened its doors in 1999 and offers visiting student groups an insight into 800 years of history of the city of Berlin. Visitors are guided around the museum with hi-tech headsets, which give audio commentaries in English or German. Underneath the museum is an enormous nuclear shelter, designed and built during the Cold War to hold nearly 4000 people. Guided tours are possible.
