St Mark's Square, Venice
One of the finest piazzas in the world without doubt and located in the heart of Venice, the magnificent San Marco square is surrounded on three sides by the Procuratie Nuove, Procuratie Vecchie and Ala Napoleonica.
On the fourth side is the outstanding Basilica di San Marco and few steps away the 15th century Clock tower or Campanile that rises above the Mercerie.
The square is one of the lowest areas in Venice and especially from October to March its access might be prevented by the high tide (acqua alta) that for tourists will probably be a remarkable experience. We are also able to arrange a number of walking tours for your student group in the area, contact FHT for prices.
