Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Washington
Located just to the north of the Lincoln Memorial, The Vietnam Veterans Memorial is a testament to those who fought and died in one of the most unpopular conflicts in American History. Split into three distinct sections, the memorial's purpose is to separate the sacrifice of the veterans from the policy of the government of the day. This in order to aspire to some form of reconciliation for the 58,000 Americans missing or killed in the conflict. Admission is free and the memorial is open daily.
