Reggio Emilia

Known also as Reggio nell'Emilia and located in the heart of Italy near Tuscany, Reggio Emilia is the perfect destination for Early Years Education students to visit.

The Reggio Emilia approach, which focuses on preschool and primary education, was developed by psychologist Loris Malaguzzi and parents from surrounding villages. Following the war, people believed that children were in need of a new way of learning.

Students can visit the Mary Poppins Nursery and The Colonnello Lugli di Santa Croce School, both located nearby in Carpi, where they practise the Montessori method.
