FHT Environmental/Sustainability Policy
FHT Travel recognises that our work may have a direct or indirect effect on the local, regional and global environment. We are committed to reducing any harmful effects on the environment and promoting the understanding of sustainability in its broadest context.
Waste reduction. We believe we can be most effective by minimising waste at source. We buy reusable or recyclable products wherever possible and look for products made from recycled materials to ensure the economic viability of recycling and help create markets for collected materials.
Purchasing. All our purchasing decisions take account of the environmental factors involved in production, use and disposal of products.
Energy and water saving. We believe that energy production consumes valuable non-renewable resources and causes massive pollution. We reduce our energy wherever practical and monitor our on-going usage to remain as energy efficient as possible.
Travel. Our environment policy aims to reduce the impact of vehicle emissions by encouraging the application of sustainable principles to travelling. We advise institutes on the carbon footprint for their tours to enable them to make choices appropriate for their group. We can also advise colleges and universities on sustainability issues for use in their lectures prior to their tour.
Hygiene, Health and Safety. While conforming to legislation, we acknowledge our staffs’ needs for an acceptable working environment and include green working practices wherever possible.
Remember: Refuse: Reuse: Reduce: Recycle
