Known as the Auschwitz Monument or Mirror Memorial, the structure was originally installed in one of Amsterdam’s municipal cemeteries and subsequently relocated to Wertheim Park.
The memorial consists of six broken mirrors which are arranged in two rows, representing the artist's homage to the six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust during World War II.
According to Wolkers, the mirrors symbolises the thought that 'heaven is no longer unbroken since Auschwitz'.
The monument is quietly tucked away in the corner of Wertheimpark park and is publicly available to visit.
