Sachsenhausen is located just 35k to the north of the city of Berlin and de rigueur.

The camp has been carefully preserved and serves as a memorial to what happened before and during the Second World War, as well as post-war Cold War when the site was a special camp for the occupying Russian forces. 

Guided tours in English are available to student groups if required. There is a museum, memorial hall and cinema where a film about the history of the camp is shown hourly.
