The Brandenburg Gate

Visit The Brandenburg Gate on your university or college trip to Berlin.

In modern history, The Brandenburg Gate is considered a symbol of the partition of the city and more widely represents the reunification of Berlin.

Originally constructed over 200 years ago, the monument has survived the onslaught of the Second World War, still standing behind Russian lines in the partition of the city.

For nearly thirty years, visitors would climb a platform in the Western sector to gaze across the Iron Curtain into the former GDR, across the vast and  barren no-mans land.

This experience can be incorporated into a walking tour or a guided sightseeing tour of the city, so contact our Tour Solvers to find out more about visiting this iconic monument during your trip.
