The Cappella Brancacci is sometimes referred to as the Sistine Chapel of the early Rennaissance and it contains many of the finest and most important works of the period and it an important visit for students of Art and Design.

The frescoes contained within it were largely painted by a talented artist Masaccio however after his early death at the age of just 27, the mantle was taken on by Filippino Lippi.

The importance of this work which became known as the new Rennaissance style could be seen in the fact that the young Michaelangelo himself came to the Cappella to study the work of Masaccio, copying his work in the Chapel. Contact us for entrance prices and further information.
