The BBFC have been classifying films and giving them age ratings since it was established by the film industry in 1912, to bring consistency to film classification.
The BBFC host a limited number of regular Student Seminars during term times, where students studying film censorship or media can attend a session with their examiners, held at their offices in Soho Square.
These sessions include a presentation by an examiner, illustrating clips from relevant films and a Q&A to learn more about the work of the BBFC.
For larger bookings we can negociate with the BBFC about customising the discussion, such as focusing on a specific film, decision, or age-rating. However, please not that advance notice needs to be provided for such arrangements.
