The Stade de France is the national stadium of France, situated just north of Paris in the commune of Saint-Denis.
In 1998 it hosted the FIFA World Cup Final and has hosted matches for the 1999 Rugby World Cup, 2003 World Championships in Athletics and the 2007 Rugby World Cup, making it the only stadium in the world to have hosted both a Football World Cup final and a Rugby World Cup final.
The stadium's versatility was demonstrated clearly when it hosted the 2003 World Championships in Athletics as well. The site is architecturally interesting as well as being often visited by sports and leisure student groups.
