This magnificent church, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, was built in 1630 when the plague that killed about a third of the Venetian people had finally disappeared.
The Salute is a huge structure built on a octagonal plan and full of references to Saint Mary. Inside the church there is a host of valuable paintings by Tiziano including “Doctors of the Church and the Evangelists”, “David and Goliath, Abraham and Isaac”, “Petecost” and many others.
