History trips to Budapest

A trip to Budapest will give your group a unique insight into modern European History and a chance to learn how this country responded first to occupation by the Nazi's and the Soviet backed Communist regime that followed.

A visit to the former Jewish Quarter and Holocaust Memorial allow you to examine the fate of Budapest's Jewish community during the Second World War and a tour of the House of Terror, located in the former headquarters of the Communist Secret Service, lets you explore an exhibition about the crimes by Fascism and Communism regimes.

There are icons of the Communist legacy still visible all over Budapest, from its grand architecture to the beautiful subway system and Memento Park, an open-air museum dedicated to monumental statues and sculpted plaques from Hungary's Communist period.

Budapest also offers a great deal for traditional History groups, from the ornate architecture of Buda Castle, to the famous Parliament Building and the Hungarian National Museum, all nestled around the picturesque River Danube.
