Originally founded as a Viking settlement, the region evolved into the Kingdom of Dublin and became the island's principal city following the Norman invasion.
Steeped in history and playing a pivotal role in both the partition of the Ireland in 1922 and the Good Friday Agreement in 1998, Dublin prospered as the capital city of the Celtic Tiger economy in the 1990's, only to fall on hard times as a result of the 2007 financial crisis. Today, Dublin offers a multitude of exciting visits for study groups, with a range of specialist sites for students of Animal and Equine Studies.
